LED

LED (Light emitting diodes) have become increasingly popular and affordable. LEDs are constructed from a semiconductor encased in either glass or translucent plastic. When electricity is passed through, they emit light.

Advantages
  • LED lamps generally produce much less heat than other lighting options and do not add to the environments temperature. As a result of low heat output, LED lamps are generally considered much safer
  • LED lamps are up to 90% cheaper to operate than other lamp technologies, providing monetary savings and using a lower carbon footprint
  • LED lamps can burn for up to 60,000 hours, much longer compared to other lamp options such as incandescent lights. The longer life of LED lamps can result in more savings and easier maintenance.
